Book a job through to a paid invoice

Follow one service appointment from the calendar to a settled invoice.

Before you start

  • A service offering with a labor rate set
  • At least one staff member added to your team

Steps

  1. Book the appointment

Open Service › Calendar and create a booking. Pick the offering, the time, and assign a staff member — the calendar only offers slots where nobody else is already booked.

  2. Confirm with the client

The booking record, from Service › Bookings, carries the appointment details and any parts the offering typically needs, so there's nothing to explain twice on the phone.

  3. Do the job, log what changed

When the technician marks the booking in progress, they can log any parts used beyond what the offering assumed. Stock for those parts adjusts the moment it's logged, not at week's end.

  4. Mark it complete

Completing the booking is what raises the invoice — built from the offering's labor rate plus whatever parts were logged, not retyped from memory.

  5. Collect payment

The invoice sits in Finance › AR against the client until it's paid. Partners › Customers shows the client's full job history the next time they call, whether or not this one is settled yet.

What you end up with

A booking that became a job, a job that became an accurate invoice, and a client record that remembers all of it.
