Run one rental from check-out to deposit settlement
Take an asset out, get it back, and settle the deposit against real condition evidence.
Before you start
- An asset added under Rental › Assets, marked available
Steps
Check availability
Open Rental › Calendar and confirm the asset is free for the dates the customer wants. Booking here reserves it — nobody else can accidentally take it out from under the customer.
Check it out
In Rental › Rentals, start the check-out: record the asset's condition with photos and notes, and collect the deposit. This record is what you'll compare against on return.
Log an inspection if the rental runs long
For multi-week rentals, Rental › Inspections lets you log a mid-rental condition check — useful evidence if damage is disputed later, and a chance to catch a problem before it gets worse.
Check it back in
At return, take new photos against the same asset. Techondo shows the check-out photos alongside them so a genuine dispute is a comparison, not a memory test.
Settle the deposit
Rental › Deposits releases the deposit — in full, or with a deduction for logged damage. The settlement posts to Finance automatically; there's no separate deposit ledger to reconcile by hand.
What you end up with
A completed rental with condition evidence at both ends and a deposit settled against real records, not a guess.
